The first in-person meeting of the project “ACT – Artistic Freedom and the Child and Youth Perspective in the Arts in Türkiye”, which we carry out within the Swedish Institute’s Creative Force Programme in collaboration with Kadir Has University, K2 Contemporary Art and Unga Klara and which was launched in May 2022, took place on 5-15 September 2022. The participants then received trainer training for 28 weeks. The next in-person module was held on 4-14 June 2023, hosted by K2 Urla Nefes Alanı in Izmir. At the same time, the trained young people met their reference groups in the field as interns. The third in-person meeting took place on 9-16 December 2023. The meeting brought together 20 participants from Diyarbakır, Istanbul and Izmir and, as part of the trainer training, opened a space for sharing experience in designing artistic creation for young audiences and in pedagogy. Taking part as advisors were dramaturg and playwright Erik Uddenberg and director Gustav Deinoff from Unga Klara; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zeynep Günsür, Asst. Prof. Dr. Özlem Hemiş, lecturer Özlem Özhabeş and Barış Arman from Kadir Has University; and artistic director Barış Işık and Savaş Işık from Mordem Sanat. Work was carried out on the drafts of three new productions from the three cities taking part in the project. In June 2024, the newly produced performances were presented in Istanbul and the project came to an end.
